Updated National Standard GB28232 for Ozone Disinfectors to Be Implemented in 2027, Raising Industry Access Threshold

In March 2026, China CDC initiated the revision of GB28232 Hygienic Requirements for Ozone Disinfectors. The new standard will be officially implemented in 2027, replacing the old version that has been used for 15 years. It tightens three mandatory indicators: ozone concentration stability, equipment safety protection and tail gas decomposition. Higher testing requirements are put forward for core discharge units, intelligent control systems and anti-corrosion materials of industrial ozone generators. When selecting suppliers, overseas buyers take compliance with the new national standard and complete third-party test reports as basic cooperation criteria. Manufacturers with self-developed core components and full certifications will gain an upper hand in the global export market of environmental protection equipment.
